We have only traced the Dreier family back to Heinrich who was the great grandfather of Sophia Wilhelmina Fredericka  Adolphine "Rika" Heiden. He was born around 1750 in Germany.

His son, Johann Jochim Friedrich Dreier, was born around 1775 in Mamerow, Germany.

Johann's daughter married Christoph Knaack and their daughter, Fredericka "Rika" married August Heiden in 1868. They came to America in 1873.

1. Heinrich Dreier

    2. Johann Dreier + Christina Martz

        3. Sophia Dreier + Christoph Knaack

            4. Fredericka Knaack + August Heiden

                 5. Her Children

                      6. Her Grandchildren

                          7.  Her Great Grandchildren

Other descendants of Heinrich Dreier also played a significant role in the lives of August and Rika (Knaack) Heiden. As shown in the chart below, Johann Dreier had another daughter, Maria, who married Heinrich Roggelein (Regelin). They had a daughter, Dorothea (right), who was Rika's first cousin and who married Johann Laas before coming to America in 1867. The Laas' appear to have played a major role in the Heiden's decision to come to Monroe, Michigan when they emigrated from Germany six years later.

It can help to see a physical representation of facts and other data involved in a family history. This partially explains the use of "family trees" with relatives scattered among the branches which helps to bring order to things.

The RootsMagic software that I use has many, many options for displaying the information in its database. I have included a few examples and hope to add more in the future. If you are interesting in getting a chart or display for your particular branch of a family, I would be glad to help you.
