  In March of 1985, Monita
Fergus published a booklet on the history of the Getty
Family. The Gettys are related to the Heiden Family
through
Mildred (Roggerman) Heiden (right) and
Florence and
Gordon Toburen.
This
great study follows the Getty Family starting
with John Getty, Sr. who was born about
1788 in The Parish of Portglenone, in what is now
Northern Ireland. It then goes to his four children, John Grant
Getty, Elizabeth (Getty) Anderson, Jane Getty
and James A. Getty Sr. (right below) who is the
direct ancestor of Mildred Heiden.

below by generation are the direct i.e. share
DNA, descendants
of James A. Getty Sr and his wife, Matilda M. McCaughey.
They had nine children, Nancy (Getty) Downing, James
Getty, Jr., George Kilpatrick Getty, Eliza (Getty)
Underwood, Alexander Getty, Hugh Getty, Peter Getty and
Charles Getty. Each of the families is represented
on an individual page. George K. Getty was Mildred's
great grandfather.
