Earl "Sock" Squires Jr. was born on May 23, 1924 in
Milan Township, Monroe County, Michigan. He was the
son of Nora
(Downing) and Ransom Squires, Sr.
 In 1944, he married
Laura Mae Grassley (right) and they had one child:

Ransom, Jr. died on
June 10, 2008 in Milan Township and is buried in the
Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway Township, Lenawee
County, Michigan. He was 84 at the time of his
