As of July, 2026 we have recorded 31 members of the Heiden, Rambow or Milhan families who have lived over 90 years of age. This includes 19 people with a direct genetic i.e. DNA relationship to Wm Carl and Mary and all of their descendants. The list also shows 12 in-laws who have achieved these milestones.

In the list that follows, direct genetic relatives are noted with an asterisk. Details on the five centenarians is included below.

Bordt (Rambow, Piotter) Ruth Jennie - Ruth was the daughter of Henry, III and Caroline (Weilnau) Rambow and was born on January 18, 1910, in Britton, Michigan. She was Mary (Rambow) Heiden's niece.

She married Bernhard Piotter in 1930 and they lived in Raisinville Township for years. After his death in 1982, she married her second husband, Herman Bordt.

Ruth died in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan on December 13, 2014 at the age of  104 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Brown (Laas), Caroline Elizabeth - Caroline was the daughter of John Wilhelm Christian and Emma (Ullrich) Laas and was born on December 5, 1910 in Toledo, Ohio. She was the second cousin, once removed of William Carl Heiden.

On July 18, 2010, Caroline died in Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. At the time, she was 99 years, 7  months and 13 days...but we will give her credit for being a centenarian.

Cowen (Rambow), Marie Margaret - She was born on September 13, 1906 and was the daughter of Henry, III and Caroline (Weilnau) Rambow. She was Mary (Rambow) Heiden's niece.

She married Claude Cowen in 1927 and they moved to Texas.

Marie died in San Antonio on August 31, 2018 at the age of 111 years, 11 months and 18 days only 13 days short of her 112th birthday.

In 1902, she married Lewis F. Godfried.

Anna died on June 29, 1979 in Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas. She was 100 years, 1 month and 18 days old.

Milhan, Carl Christian Johann Frederick Martin "Fred" - He was the older brother of Mary (Rambow) Heiden's mother, Wilhelmina (Milhan) Rambow. He was born on October 27, 1849 in Gross Wokern, Germany, the same village where William Carl and Mary Rambow's family lived.

Fred came to America in 1873 about year before the Rambows followed and the same year that the Heidens made their journey. All three groups settled in Raisinville Township a short distance from each other where they spent the rest of their lives.

On June 10, 1950, Fred died at the age of 100 years, 7 months and 14 days. He was the father of another centenarian, Anna (Milhan) Godfried.
